2016

It's a tradition on this blog to end each year with an overview, to remember things. Although there's few nowadays, I do my best to keep you posted when there is something coming out of my hands. The good news is that at the very moment some projects are in the making.

Thank you all for dropping by and leaving your sweet comments. Hope to see you again in 2016!

2015

2015 has begun. That deserves an overview of the last year of Lightbluegrey!
At the same time, let's be open-hearted: the second half of last year I got ill and I won't be back at work soon either. The collage shows that the level of productivity on my blog wasn't that high. I'm happy to tell that recently something came out of my hands again, and that made me happy.
But there are doubts. Doubts about blogging. Doubts about showing things to the world or keeping them privately. After all those years I have doubts about sharing things and my longing for approval. Do I need this? Anyway, as I'm not able right now to decide to quit or not, I will bother you with some blog news soon :).

Thanks for visiting my blog in 2014. Wishing you all a creative 2015!

2014

This year I loved to keep on reading your blogs, dear co-bloggers. You worked so hard to get everything posted. My compliments for your drive and enormous creativity!
The amount of posts on this blog is apparently about constant. This is what I can and need to do next to my job. My job has been really busy this year, and this blog is the compensation at home. Thank you for leaving sweet words in 2013. Hopefully you like to come back in 2014 as well.

Wishing you all the best!

Weekend roundup

May I still tell you about last weekend, just before next weekend? It was such a rich weekend with good results, one could say. The program:

Friday/Saturday/Sunday: sewing a coat for M. Here a glimpse. Stay tuned to see it finished.

Saturday: open house at DTH Leather in Drunen. Don't know where these leathers will be used for, but I'll surely keep you posted.

Sunday: bloggers meeting with Petra of Vervlogen Dagen. What a lovely woman and daughter! Petra and I started our blogs at the same time in 2010 (!). I love her creativity and text writing skills! Please comment here when you - just like me - don't want her to quit her great blog!

A great day

One day makes two blogposts! Kristel explains.

After our date we visited het Stedelijk Museum (mmm, I don't like this site and typography...), that gave us some great experiences and likewise pictures.

Ok, next time I promiss you a craft post again.

M à Paris

It's so small! she said, stepping out of the ground at Trocadero. I laughed and would love my girl for four more days in Paris. The way she walked, the way she looked, the way she smiled, I loved it. She and Paris, a beautiful couple.

Two days by metro, two days by bike (Vélib' Paris). Heavy traffic cycling on the Place de Gaulle and the Place de la Bastille and au Marais, romantic cycling by night, making good memories!

Naturellement doing it the Paris way!

Spending many hours at La Droguerie, where M started to make bracelets right away!

Admiring all kinds of art.

Enjoying the view on Paris from all directions. We are still dreaming.
M, when shall we do London?

Like me

Facebook, not my cup of tea, I tend to say. But... look at the sidebar: time has come to change (Google reader is retiring) and to join the social media. Clickerdeclick and feel free to follow and like me wherever you want!

Wanna swap?

These fabrics of my stock, 50x110 cm of canvas cotton Pop and Popstar of Kokka, are apparently not my favorite. I thought that maybe one of you is into a fabric swap? Please let me know!

Let's babble

After Keiki there was more fun this week. I was surprised receiving an email in my inbox: I was congratulated by Babble because I made it to their Top 50 Mom Craft Blogs of 2013. They told me that I had to shout about it! Ok, here is my shout, but I'm afraid without Facebook, Twitter and so on, this will be my only tiny shout...
Makes me more eager to try Facebook once, when I'm grown up ;). And Babble editors, thanks for appreciating my tiny blog, your words are warm! I'm happy to show you that the reversible leather sample bag isn't complex at all.

Not by me

No sewing for me this weekend. On Saturday skates were more important. We loved to be on the beautiful Rottemeren, but... the ice quality was getting worse and worse, so in the end one could only speak of gliding instead of skating. And oh, we crashed a lot! Too bad to finish the skate season like this.
Totally cold and a bit disappointed I returned back home. Like a child I loved to see the little package brought by the post.

Ik ben Vink told me I had won her give-away and there it was! No, M and no, L, this present is mine, I told my daughters, who surrounded me while unwrapping.

So the sewing was done for me! I just had to lay back en enjoy ;). Look what made everything complete!

I'm so happy and... a huge fan of Vink for a long time already. This and this are some of my favorite pieces of her. You agree, don't you?

2013

This year I didn't focus: leather, paper, fabrics, beads, knitting needles and more were hold in my hands. And I probably won't choose one direction in 2013 either. Maybe I'm able to add ceramics or wood? I'm not sure. Please drop by again to see in which direction my life goes. Thank you all for encouraging me by leaving some words.

Wishing you a creative 2013!

Learning from kids

Trula Kids invited me to join in her daily blog posts about what we learn from our children. She is featuring pictures of blog friends as an advent calendar. Go and read these series, because they are lovely and cheer up your day. This is my contribution of today.

Her idea

(Almost forgotten how to blog, but here I am again!)

Today M wanted only one thing: a new cell phone cosy. Since she lost her phone a while ago, she got a new one, the cheapest ever. But she is as happy as ever.
She told me exactly what to do. Making the tiny phone going upward by pulling the string or ribbon. So this is it, out of remnants of some former blogged items. Does any of you blog followers know which one?

Just met...

... Petra of Vervlogen Dagen! My first exciting, sort of blind blogger date. She and I started a blog at the same time and ever since we have a kind of digital friendship by leaving comments on each other's posts. Now she was my guest and I must say: she is in real even more great and beautiful than her blog is!
And sweet... she brought this such beautiful bag (see comments in link) for M ('may I say you once again that I love it?'), a pencil case in L's favorite colors and some fat quarters for me :), of course all designed and made by herself, even the fabrics. Please bring me more visitors like this. It was a long, but still to short being together for both mothers and daughters.

2012

Dear all, this year my blog has been my favorite hobby, because of you! I loved to read your comments with sweet words. Especially the stick horses have been spread over the www. That's how it ment to be. And so many followers (what a beautiful amount on the end of the year!)... it makes me shy. Thank you all for appreciating my posts and please come by and join me again next year!

A happy 2012!

Tradition

This 'Linzertorte' was made by F, something he does every year in December. A tasteful habit from his German roots. This week he baked one for school, one for today and one for tomorrow. Mmmm... For today's diner in our house F will make an appetizer, M a soup, I will prepare a quiche and L is going to make her first dessert.
May this year's Xmas taste good to you all!

Taking some rest

Packed my holiday present. I'm ready for it.
Wish you all a great summertime and like to see you again in a few weeks!

Update: Suddenly saw the color similarity with my header :).

Catching up

It's quiet on my blog, I know. I'm quite busy both professionally as privately. M and L are into a lot of activities: yesterday we all attended M's circus performance, this morning she was playing her violin in a childrens orchestra. It was the first time for M feeling nervously. Furthermore I'm organising with a group of parents the so-called Springmarket, a feast in school on a Saturday in May. We made a design for the schoolyard, but to get it realised we need a lot of hands... I'll get you posted about the result in a few weeks.
A few weeks ago I got an invitation to contribute to a German family magazine called Nido. It's my first time this is happening through my blog. This week I took a quiet day off to get the work done. Of course it's still top secret ;), but in a few weeks I'll get you posted about that too.
