Most important, M is happy with her present! And Sofia, I hope you like it. I know Erika gave a black leotard like M has, so the both of you will look even more like sisters!

Dancing together
Sofia of Erika turns 11 today! She is M's best ballet friend. Ever since M is wearing this ballet skirt, Sofia is begging me with her sweet brown eyes for a same one. How can I resist?
This, a bit more simple version is for you, Sofia. It does look more simple, but it turned out so hard to make! Although I skipped making many layers, I'll never make a skirt like this anymore. The used materials are to slippery and to artificial in my opinion. Or... maybe... after seeing this one in green...

Being super
Inspired by Oon's great pics (thanks Oon!), I made this superhero set for Oscar. Next Saturday L is attending his birthday party.
I googled images of a 'superhero' because this mother of daughters didn't have a clue of how a superhero looks like...
To be honest, superhero's are not my favorite. It might have been different if I was a mother of a son. But even then I doubt it. I doubt as well if L wants to be one. She didn't had the urge at all to act like Oon's kids...

Playing with letters
When Petra posted this bag last Wednesday, I came up with the idea to make a C-bag for Christina, L's friend. She gave a great birthday party the day after, so I finished the bag (made of Ikea fabric) the very same day of the post. That's how inspiration should work, don't you think? It gave me sewing wings!
But the day after we decided that the bag was more like a G-bag instead of a C-bag... Luckily last Friday L came home with another invitation of another birthday party of another friend. Guess what, her name is Grietje! Honestly I think this bag will suit Grietje even better...
I can imagine the letters J, T, U, V, X and Z will do the job as well. Are you giving it a try?

Me and zippers
L is having a birthday party at the moment. For Philemon I made this pencil pouch. It means practicing zipper sewing to me. The fabric of Ikea you saw before.
All design credits of this present go to my super creative friend Kristel. A lot of variations are entering my mind... I'm curious what the outcome of that will be. And if there will be one...Be careful birthday boy!

Family wear?
She wanted to have these. To wear under shorts with tights. I allowed her to buy her first sort of unhealthy footwear. In the shop I joined her. It feels like former times! Perfect Saturday's wear. But as well under a jacket to the office.
Now the three of us have Allstars. F is a persistent refuser, so we finally canceled our plan to give him a pair for his birthday tomorrow.

Collection
She was like little me. Very much wanting to make pendants. So I bought her diy-pendants in this shop I don't like.
She's over the moon... and I liked to photograph them.

50!
The very first of our friends is reaching 50 years! A is a dear friend for 25 years already. Tomorrow we will be attenting his birthday party, starting with a cooking class followed by a dinner.
My other dear friend A and I decided to buy ànd to make him presents. This very beautiful book, which is totally designed and written by Yvette van Boven, is what he will get for present when published in a month. Tomorrow he's getting two booklets: this winter edition and this same-sized and same-styled booklet that we made. About all we know about him, all we share and how we love to have him around. It's hard to express incredibly precious things like that on paper, but... I hope and secretly think he likes it!

The making was great fun: to work in a team with A, to layout the booklet and last but not least to design the cover, inspired by the very beautiful paper cuts of Yvette. Btw, in this case there was no paper cut at all, but the cover grew out of scanned handsketches, that were composed in Photoshop and in the end provided with a digital shadow.
For those who want to know: we had it printed and finished with a hardcover right here (just like these books).

Our afternoon
Making these the traditional way...
... by punching tiny holes, blowing the content out of it, breaking some when doing this, cleaning afterwards the egg yolk from the terrace, painting, dropping one, decorating and dropping another just before hanging them. Fun!
Just wanted to say: happy Easter!
