10!

Since L is going to be 10 next week, invitations had to be made for her party. L has planned to go jumping with her friends. So she made small matching drawings, that I made even smaller.

Only hope that the weather will be ok...

Relaxing evening

This week I attended the traditional parents evening at school, where we made a secret Sinterklaas present for our kids. L's teacher bought wooden drawing boxes; F sandpapered them all to get rid of the text on top. A drawing, telling about what L is up to right now, was added in soft pencil tones. Next time paint again?

Friday song

Last Friday L was singing this song all the time after school. Spontaneously and simultaneously these drawings were made. L taught me the words. It's about a tuber that has to be pulled out of the soil with a lot of men and animal power.
Now the singing is still going on. To remember these fine moments I reduced the drawings and put them in little frames of 10x15 cm. A small present for Sinterklaas evening.

In secret

My youngest is really fond of several books of Elsa Beskow. On 5 December she may add Around the year to her small collection. I love to read them and together we admire the pictures.
For school we traditionally make Sinterklaas presents. This week I attended a cozy parents evening, where all parents painted the most beautiful music boxes for their children. This little box Sinterklaas will bring along for L. Hopefully she likes the little painting of her and her big sister...

Forgotten...

Last sunday my jogging friend told me about the arrival of Sinterklaas in Rotterdam. I think it's because we were still in St. Martin's atmosfere, that we totally forgot to go there!
But since that day there are plenty of Sinterklaas activities in our house: M and L put their shoes next to the terrace door (we have no chimney) in great expectation, are wrapping fake presents (each of them got half a roll of Sinterklaas wrapping paper in their shoes), wore Sint and Piet costumes, made this Sinterklaas table (autumn disappeared in a box again...), read big red books again and again.
And I? Yesterday I was drawing, while M was watching, and this morning I added the drawing to the table. Next week we'll take our children to another entry of another Sinterklaas.

Sleep tight

I can't resist making drawings on several wooden children's furniture we have. I'm showing you the bed of Zusje, the doll of L.
You see L long time ago on her third anniversary, playing with her just unwrapped new dolls bed and singing a song for Zusje.
