This week I attended the traditional parents evening at school, where we made a secret Sinterklaas present for our kids. L's teacher bought wooden drawing boxes; F sandpapered them all to get rid of the text on top. A drawing, telling about what L is up to right now, was added in soft pencil tones. Next time paint again?

Lieve Lieve
As you can see the stamps were still laying around! The stamp effect is everytime surprising to me. Now the ink liquified into the unsanded wood, which was really great. I made her a pincushion too, by hand this time. M said she really needs one :).

In secret
For school we traditionally make Sinterklaas presents. This week I attended a cozy parents evening, where all parents painted the most beautiful music boxes for their children. This little box Sinterklaas will bring along for L. Hopefully she likes the little painting of her and her big sister...

Best friend
Today M attends the birthday party of her best friend. Inspired by this blog (thanks, Erika!) we worked out this present. M did the drawing on the outside of a wooden box and winded the yarn around the little cartons. F finished the box with linseed oil. And hurray, I made my first pincushion. We enjoyed doing it very much.
I think the gift is a good way to pass on crafting.
